|Quality of the highest order
Hold this Magna Classic Vermeil and you’ll immediately recognise it as quality of the highest order. Made from almost 100 grams of solid Sterling silver and gold, the balance is perfect when writing, and the Barleycorn pattern engine-turning on the barrel and cap is so tactile that you will not want to put it down.
As with all our precious metal pens, the cap is designed not to be posted onto the barrel when writing.
Based on the style and shape of the Onoto Magna of 1937 which is still acclaimed by many as the best fountain pen ever made, this Magna Classic Vermeil has 3 gold cap bands and the famous gold Onoto Chevron clip.
‘Onoto The Pen’ – a fine tradition
Following a tradition dating back to the early 20th century, each pen has ‘Onoto THE Pen Made in England’ engraved on the barrel – a fine tradition that we like to perpetuate. However, if you prefer not to have this engraving, we can provide it without. Instead, a blank cartouche on the barrel (see image above) allows for a special personal engraving – a name, initials or even your personal motto!
Authentic English hallmarks
Each Magna Classic Vermeil bears full English hallmarks to acknowledge its provenance and identity as a pen of real quality, including the famous ‘OPC’ (Onoto Pen Company) sponsor’s mark which identifies it as an authentic Onoto. The hallmarks are stamped on the taper at the top of the barrel next to the edition number.
Onoto nibs – Probably the Best on the market
Put ‘pen to paper’ and you’ll be amazed at the smoothness of the exclusive 18ct gold Onoto #7 nib available in broad, fine or medium widths to suit your handwriting style.
Custom nibs also available
And if you prefer to use a special nib – an italic, stub or oblique, for example – you can have the 18ct gold nib ground to your exact specification by one of the UK’s leading nib-masters. Just complete your requirements in the shopping cart.
And for that extra touch…
Whether for yourself or as a gift, you can have the Magna Classic Vermeil engraved with a name or initials for that touch of exclusivity at a modest extra cost.
Like all modern Onoto pens, the Magna Classic Vermeil comes with a lifetime guarantee. If there’s ever a problem with your pen, just return it to us and we’ll repair it for you free of charge.*
(*See guarantee card for full details. Does not apply to accidental damage.)
