A celebration for pen lovers
The Writing Equipment Society is the leading British organisation devoted to pens and other writing implements. The Society has a strong international membership and its WES Journal, published 3 times each year, is eagerly anticipated by members all around the world.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of its formation, the Society asked Onoto to create a commemorative pen to mark the occasion. The President’s Pen is the result. This beautiful pen also acknowledges the contribution to the development of the society by Dr Geoff Roe, the retiring president.
Originally, The President’s Pen was only offered to members, but the committee of the WES has now decided to offer it to a wider audience AND include a full 12 months membership of the Society in the price. Naturally, the hope is once you have experienced all the advantages of being a member of the WES, you will want to re-new your subscription, and continue to enjoy the colourful WES Journal, and the numerous special events and pen shows that the society organises.
Famous Heritage
Onoto’s exclusive WES President’s Pen is based on the style and shape of one of the most famous fountain pens ever made – the Onoto Magna of 1937 which is still acclaimed by many as the best fountain pen ever made. Crafted from WES blue high density acrylic with superb classical chasing on cap and barrel, The President’s Pen has a broad gilded sterling silver cap band and the famous gold plated Onoto Chevron clip.
The distinctive WES logo is depicted in an acrylic button inserted into the end of the barrel, making it instantly recognisable, while the gold-plated Onoto cypher on the cap finishes the overall luxury feel.
Perfect balance and feel
Hold The President’s Pen and you will marvel at its perfect balance and how tactile it feels – it is also one of the most robust pens on the market today, thanks to its durable, high density acrylic composition.
Onoto nibs – Probably the best on the market
Put ‘pen to paper’ and you’ll be amazed at the smoothness of the Onoto #7 18ct gold nib. It’s available in broad, fine or medium widths to suit your handwriting style.
Custom nibs also available
And if you prefer to use a special nib – an italic, stub or oblique, for example – you can have our gold nib ground to your exact specification by one of the UK’s leading nib-masters. Just complete your requirements in the shopping cart.
And for that extra touch…
Whether for yourself or as a gift, you can have The President’s Pen engraved with your name or initials for that touch of exclusivity at a modest extra cost.
