The Onoto Aviator Range
A pen for every aircraft enthusiast… Milled from solid silver and inspired by one of the most famous planes, the Supermarine S6B, the ‘father’ of the Spitfire.
For The Aviator, we have turned to one of RJ’s earlier designs, the Supermarine S6B, for inspiration. The sleek, smooth lines of the S6B with its ridged aerodynamic fuselage won the Schneider Trophy in 1931 at a speed of 340mph (547km/h) flying 7 perfect laps of the triangular course over the Solent, between the Isle of Wight and the British mainland. Seventeen days later, another Supermarine S6B flown by the same pilot Flt. Lt. John Boothman broke the world air speed record reaching 407.5mph (655.67km/h).
